Engine oil is engine lubricating oil. Its function is to lubricate the components between the engines, and it has a certain function of cooling and heat dissipation, as well as auxiliary cooling and cooling, sealing and leakage prevention, rust and corrosion prevention, shock absorption and buffering and other functions.



Petroleum-based mineral oils function very well as lubricants in probably 90 percent of industrial applications. They are cost-effective and provide a reasonable service life if used properly but have some limitations, depending upon the specific type of base stock used, the refining technology, the type and level of additives blended, and the operating conditions encountered. The main service difficulties within mineral oils are:



Lubricant viscosity index improvers are becoming common additives to improve the viscosity index, low temperature fluidity and high temperature viscosity retention of lubricants. Viscosity index improvers are typically oil-soluble polymers that are subject to shear and pyrolysis during engine operation, resulting in fracture of the macromolecules and a significant reduction in the thickening capacity of the fractured polymer and a reduction in the viscosity of the oil. Commonly used viscosity index improvers are polymethacrylate (PMA), ethylene propylene copolymer (OCP), hydrogenated styrene isoprene copolymer (SV), polyisobutylene (PIB) four categories. Ethylene propylene copolymer (OCP) is widely used in lubricants because of its better performance and price.



Gear oil should have good anti-wear and load resistance properties and suitable viscosity. It is mainly based on petroleum lubricating oil base oil or synthetic lubricating oil, adding extreme pressure anti-wear agent and oleaginous agent to modulate an important lubricant. It is used in various gear transmission devices to prevent tooth surface wear, abrasion, sintering, etc., prolong its life and improve the efficiency of power transmission.



1.What is Viscosity Index (Viscosity Index): Viscosity index (VI: Viscosity index) is the degree to which the viscosity of a liquid changes with temperature. Temperature affects the viscosity of a liquid, just like cooking oil, if the temperature is lowered, the oil will thicken or even stop flowing; if the temperature is raised, the viscosity of the oil will decrease and become thinner and the fluidity will increase. When selecting lubricating oil, equipment requires a suitable viscosity, so we hope that the viscosity of lubricating oil can remain relatively stable in temperature changes. The viscosity of lubricating oil will change with temperature, but the higher the viscosity index of lubricating oil, the viscosity can remain relatively stable in the temperature change, the lower the viscosity index, the more easily the viscosity of the oil is affected by temperature. Lubricating oils with a high viscosity index show better viscosity-temperature characteristics.



1.The full name of HTHS is: High Temperature High Shear This parameter is the apparent viscosity of the oil obtained by the capillary viscosity test at 150 °C, that is, the dynamic viscosity. It is tested under the conditions of simulating the working temperature of the internal combustion engine cylinder and high-speed shearing, reflecting the lubrication between the cylinder liner and the piston ring and the fuel economy of the lubricating oil.



Oil filter clogging If the opening pressure of the bypass valve is set too high, when the oil filter is blocked, it cannot be opened in time, the pressure of the oil pump will rise, the internal leakage will increase, the oil supply to the main oil channel will be reduced, and the oil pressure will drop. You should ensure the oil filter is clean, adjust the opening pressure of the bypass valve correctly, and replace or repair the damaged components or mating surface in time to restore its normal working performance.
